Privacy policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
This policy explains what personal data we process, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and how you can exercise your rights under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (Law 13,709/2018, LGPD).
It applies to the Zinn App (the client app, on phones and on the web), to Zinn Motorista (the driver app) and to the Zinn management dashboard, which together make up the Zinn platform.
In short: we use your data to make the ride happen, to charge and pay, to keep things safe and to comply with the law. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising. A driver's location is only recorded while they are online. A driver's Google Calendar only receives their rides and is never read.
The original version of this policy is in Portuguese. If the versions differ, the Portuguese one prevails.
1.Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is {razaoSocial} (Zinn Transportes), CNPJ 20.916.222/0001-66, located at Rua Chuva de Ouro (lot jd Anchieta) 37, São José, Sapucaia do Sul, RS, Brasil, 93218-660.
Data Protection Officer (encarregado): Juan Carlos Coffi da silva, at [email protected].
Other companies on the platform. The Zinn platform may also be used by other transport companies, each with its own clients and drivers. If you use another company's app, that company is the controller of your data and Zinn processes it on its behalf, as a processor, only to keep the platform running. One company's data is not visible to the others.
2.What data we process
From all users
| Data | How we get it |
|---|---|
| Name, e-mail and password | You provide them when signing up. The password is stored encrypted by Firebase Authentication; we have no access to it. |
| Sign in with Google | If you choose to sign in with Google: your Google account's name, e-mail and profile photo (basic openid, email and profile permissions). |
| Sign in with Apple (iPhone) | If you choose to sign in with Apple: name and e-mail, which may be Apple's private relay address. |
| Notification token | Created by your device when you allow notifications, so we can send alerts to your phone. |
| Technical records | Access date and time, errors, and IP address in payment and security operations. |
If you are a client (Zinn App)
| Data | When |
|---|---|
| CPF, WhatsApp number and address (postal code, street, number, complement, neighborhood, city and state) | At sign-up. Required for billing and receipts. |
| Company data: CNPJ, legal and trade name, state registration, phone and registration status | If the account belongs to a company. Part of it is looked up in public Federal Revenue databases using the CNPJ. |
| Profile photo | If you upload one. |
| Pickup, stops and destination addresses; date and time | With every ride, booking or quote. |
| Name and phone of the person traveling | When you book a ride for someone else. |
| Phone location | While the app is open, if you allow it, to show the map and suggest the pickup address. We do not record your position continuously. |
| Places and favorites | Addresses you save in the app. |
| Family | Name and e-mail of the people you invite to your family in the app, and their answers. |
| Payments, balance, top-ups and withdrawals | When you pay, top up or withdraw. For cards we only keep a token from Asaas; your PIX key if you request a withdrawal. |
| Messages | Chat with the driver and with dispatch, within the ride. |
| Incident reports | If you report a problem with a ride. |
| Voice request | Only if you use the microphone to request a ride (see section 6). |
Saved passengers stay on your phone. The passenger list you save in the Zinn App (name, phone, e-mail and relationship) is kept only on your device and is not sent to our servers. When you book a ride for one of these people, only their name and phone go into the ride, so the driver can contact the person boarding.
If you are a driver (Zinn Motorista)
| Data | When |
|---|---|
| CPF, date of birth, phone, address and driver's license number | At sign-up. |
| Photos or PDFs of the driver's license (CNH), vehicle registration (CRLV) and insurance policy, with expiry dates | At sign-up and when adding a vehicle. |
| Vehicle: model, color, plate, type and category | When you request to add a vehicle, which the company approves. |
| English and Spanish level (none, intermediate or fluent) | At sign-up. The declared level only counts after the company confirms it. |
| Real-time location | Only while you are online, including with the app in the background. When you go offline, collection stops and the last position is deleted. |
| Ride route (GPS points) | During a ride in progress, to calculate the distance and check the fare. |
| IP address | Only if the phone's location is blocked: we use the IP to estimate the city. |
| PIX key and payment sub-account data | To receive payouts and withdraw. The sub-account is opened at Asaas in your name. |
| Earnings, fees, balance and withdrawals | With every ride and payout. |
| Accepted, declined and cancelled rides; incident reports | Over time. There are no star ratings. |
| Google account and calendar | Only if you connect your Google Calendar (see section 5). |
If you are a manager or work on the dashboard
Name, e-mail, team role and the company you belong to. Important administrative actions (for example, exporting or deleting someone's data) are logged, with who did it and when.
3.Why we use it and on what legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis (LGPD, art. 7) |
|---|---|
| Create and maintain your account; provide the transport service; book, dispatch and track rides | Performance of a contract (item V) |
| Send the ride to the most suitable driver, based on position, vehicle category and requested language | Performance of a contract (V) |
| Charge, pay drivers, and handle payouts, top-ups and withdrawals | Performance of a contract (V) |
| Issue receipts and keep tax and accounting records | Legal obligation (II) |
| Check the driver's documents, license and vehicle | Performance of a contract (V) and legal obligation (II) |
| Give the driver the name and phone of the person traveling, when the ride is for someone else | Legitimate interest (IX): the driver needs to reach whoever is boarding |
| Show drivers where demand is higher, by neighborhood (demand map) | Legitimate interest (IX), with grouped data that does not identify clients |
| Safety, fraud prevention and route checks | Legitimate interest (IX) |
| Service notices by notification and e-mail (ride accepted, receipt, payout, password) | Performance of a contract (V) |
| Add rides to the driver's Google Calendar | Consent (I), given when connecting the calendar |
| Handle requests and defend rights in legal proceedings | Regular exercise of rights (VI) |
We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising and we do not build marketing profiles.
5.Google Calendar (driver app)
Drivers can choose to connect their Google account so that accepted rides appear in their calendar. It is optional: the app works the same without it.
- Permission requested: only calendar.events (view and edit calendar events). We do not request access to e-mail, contacts, files or calendars other than the primary one.
- What we do: we create one event for each accepted ride, with the passenger's name, the pickup and destination addresses and the time. When connecting, we create and immediately delete a test event to confirm the calendar works.
- What we don't do: we do not read, copy or analyze the events already in your calendar. The only data read from the Google account is the e-mail address.
- Where access is kept: we store an access code (refresh token) and your e-mail in a server area the apps cannot read. It is only used to write your ride events.
- How to disconnect: in Settings, under the calendar section of the driver app. When you disconnect, we delete the access code and ask Google to revoke it. You can also revoke it at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Events already created stay in your calendar, and you can delete them.
- Alternative without sign-in: the driver can instead share the calendar with the service address shown in the app. In that case we only store the calendar's address.
Limited Use. Zinn's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Calendar data is used only to show the driver's rides in their own calendar. It is not sold, not used for advertising, not used to train artificial intelligence models and not read by humans, except with the driver's permission, for security purposes (such as investigating abuse) or to comply with the law.
6.Voice requests
When the company turns this feature on, clients can tap the microphone and say the ride they want. It only works when you tap the microphone; you can always type instead.
- Speech is turned into text by the phone's own speech recognition (Apple on iPhone, Google on Android), which may process the audio on their servers.
- The text, the time, the approximate city and the names of saved passengers (up to 40, never phone numbers) are sent to an artificial intelligence service (Anthropic or Google Gemini), only to understand the request and fill in the ride.
- We do not record the audio. Before booking, you review and confirm the ride on screen.
7.Phone permissions
| Permission | App | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Location while in use | Zinn App and Zinn Motorista | Show the map and suggest the pickup address |
| Background location | Zinn Motorista | Receive ride requests and show clients where the driver is, while online, even with the app closed. A persistent notice in the Android status bar shows that location is in use. |
| Display over other apps | Zinn Motorista (Android) | Show the ride request and the Zinn bubble over other apps (such as navigation). It collects no data; without it, requests arrive as notifications. |
| Notifications | All | Alerts about rides, messages, payments and expiring documents |
| Microphone and speech recognition | Zinn App | Voice requests, only when you tap the microphone |
| Camera and photos | Zinn App and Zinn Motorista | Upload a profile photo and documents |
You can deny or withdraw any permission in your phone settings. Some features stop working without it: for example, drivers do not receive requests without location.
8.What is stored on your device
The apps keep some information on the phone or browser itself to work better: saved passengers, last location used, frequent routes, the last digits and brand of the saved card, light or dark theme and navigation preferences. This is not sent to our servers and is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear the browser data.
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking or analytics tools.
9.How long we keep it
| Data | Period |
|---|---|
| Driver's live position | Only the current position, while online. Deleted when the driver goes offline. |
| GPS points of the ride route | 90 days. Only the total distance remains, which supports the fare charged. |
| Copies of e-mails sent | 30 days |
| Receipts and their links | 180 days. Tax data is kept for the legal period. |
| In-app notices | 1 year |
| Rides, messages, quotes and incident reports | 5 years, the period for consumer damage claims (Consumer Protection Code, art. 27). After that, messages are deleted and the ride loses addresses, route, notes and passenger; who, when and how much remain. |
| Financial and tax records | For the period required by law |
| Account and documents | While the account exists |
| Records involved in legal proceedings | Until the proceedings end |
10.Your rights
The LGPD (art. 18) lets you request, at any time:
- confirmation that we process your data and access to it: we send a copy with your data and the documents you uploaded;
- correction of incomplete, wrong or outdated data (you can fix much of it yourself in the app);
- anonymization, blocking or deletion of unnecessary data or data processed unlawfully;
- portability of your data to another provider;
- deletion of your account and of data processed with your consent;
- information about who we share your data with and about the option not to consent;
- withdrawal of consent, such as disconnecting Google Calendar;
- review of decisions made solely by automated means.
How to ask: write to [email protected]. We reply within 15 days. To protect you, we may ask you to confirm your identity first.
Account deletion: when you delete your account, we delete your profile, documents, photos, notification tokens and notices. We only keep the records the law requires (completed rides, payments and tax data), for the periods in section 9. If you are a driver, your payment sub-account is closed once the balance is withdrawn.
If you feel we have not resolved your request, you can also complain to Brazil's National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).
11.Security
- Connections are always encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).
- Access rules prevent one user from seeing another's data, and one company from seeing another's.
- CPF, PIX key, date of birth and documents are kept in restricted-access areas.
- The card number and security code pass through our servers only to be sent to Asaas, encrypted, and are not stored.
- Logging of administrative actions, limits against abusive automated use and automatic deletion of expired data.
No system is completely immune. If a security incident poses a relevant risk, we will notify you and the ANPD within the legal deadlines.
12.Children and teenagers
The apps are not intended for people under 18. A minor may travel as a passenger, but the account and the ride request always belong to a responsible adult.
13.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service changes. Relevant changes will be announced in the app before they take effect. The date at the top shows the version in force.
